TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT AND CURRENCY CONVERSION

Local currency: Chile’s currency is the Chilean peso (CLP).
Exchange rate (approximately): CLP $992 = USD$1

Multiple bus, van, cab (taxis) and Car Rental companies provide services from the airport to the city. You can book a ride at any company counter, all located outside customs. Prices are published. Please use only official companies.

  • A shared van ride costs around $8.000-$10.000 CLP (https://www.transvip.cl/)
  • Uber is also a good option.
  • Taxi fare should be around $25.000-30.000 CLP. DRIVERS ONLY TAKE CASH & LOCAL CURRENCY. IT IS OPTIONAL TO TIP, HOWEVER, UNCOMMON.
  • Uber is a good option as well, and it can be even cheaper than a taxi $20.000 CLP.
  • Once you reach the airport exit find the bus terminal which will be quite close. There are some blue buses labeled ‘Centropuerto’ that can take you downtown. The bus ride will cost you around $2.000 CLP (https://www.centropuerto.cl/) and will take you to Metro Station «Pajaritos» (Red Line 1) where you need to get off, and then enter the metro station, and buy a «BIP» pre-paid transportation card to use the system. You can also get off at the last bus stop called «Los Heroes» (corresponding to the metro station «Los Heroes») which is the closest one to the conference. Our conference is one block away from the metro station «Parque Almagro».
